Puppy Wellness

Congratulations on welcoming a new puppy into your family! Thank you for choosing Brown Creek Animal Hospital to provide care and protection for your new addition.

Our puppy wellness program is crafted to set your puppy on the path to a healthy and happy life. The initial months are pivotal in your puppy’s growth, and we are here to equip you with the guidance and tools needed to nurture a well-behaved and thriving dog. This includes expert advice on nutrition, training, behavior, and socialization.

We recommend beginning vaccinations at 6 weeks, with boosters every 3 weeks until at least 15 weeks old. Rabies vaccination is crucial at 12 weeks, along with optional vaccinations like  Leptospirosis, Bordetella (Kennel Cough), and Canine Influenza (Flu). Regular examinations during these intervals are vital to monitor development and address any concerns promptly. Each puppy exam includes a complimentary fecal examination. Additionally, a sample dose of heartworm preventative is provided at 12 weeks, with monthly administration recommended until the final puppy exam at 15 weeks. All puppies should undergo heartworm testing after 6 months, as early prevention is key.

Schedule your puppy’s first exam promptly to protect against preventable diseases until vaccinations are complete. Our team ensures thorough protection against rabies, distemper, and parvovirus, and addresses common issues like parasites, which are prevalent in young dogs.

Kitten Wellness

Congratulations on your new kitten! Thank you for entrusting Brown Creek Animal Hospital to safeguard and care for your new family member.

Our kitten wellness program is specifically designed to guide your kitten towards a healthy and fulfilling life. The initial months are pivotal in your kitten’s development, and we are here to provide the necessary support and resources to nurture a well-adjusted and robust cat. This includes essential guidance on nutrition, litterbox training, and behavior.

Similar to puppies, we recommend beginning vaccinations at 6 weeks of age, with subsequent vaccinations administered every 3 weeks until at least 12 weeks old. The first rabies vaccination should be given at 12 weeks. Each kitten exam includes a complimentary fecal examination, and a sample dose of flea preventative is provided at 12 weeks. We strongly advocate for early testing of all kittens for Feline Leukemia Virus and recommend testing for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus after 6 months of age.

Schedule your kitten’s initial examination promptly to safeguard against preventable diseases during the vaccination process. We ensure thorough protection against rabies, panleukopenia (distemper), and other diseases such as feline leukemia virus (FeLV). Additionally, your kitten will be screened and treated for common parasites that affect young cats.

Adult Pet Wellness

Regular annual wellness visits are essential to maintain your pet’s health and ensure they enjoy a high quality of life. As the saying goes, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” and we wholeheartedly agree. We recommend scheduling your pet for a comprehensive wellness examination at least once a year. This annual check-up allows our veterinarians to thoroughly assess your pet’s health, address any concerns, and provide up-to-date vaccinations and routine testing.

At Brown Creek Animal Hospital, we emphasize the importance of core vaccinations such as parvo, distemper, and Bordetella on an annual basis to safeguard your pet’s well-being. We also offer discounted rates on annual wellness blood work and urinalysis, which are invaluable for the early detection of health issues. During your pet’s wellness visit, we strongly advise heartworm testing, ensuring proactive care against this preventable disease.
